The vegan food at Disney California Adventure has gotten buzz lightyears better with their increase in vegan options in the last few years. (Sorry, not sorry, for the pun.) From the Dole Whip and blended drinks in Pixar Pier, to the opening of Avengers Campus Pym Test Kitchen Featuring Impossible Foods, vegan visitors to Disney California Adventure can now partake more than ever in the foodie haven that is the Disney parks.
Brand new to the Disney parks is a leaf icon you can now find on the menus next to all plant-based options. The leaf icon means that the meal option is 100% plant-based (no meat, dairy, or egg) and requires no customization.
However, there is plenty of other vegan food in Disney California Adventure that can be easily veganized without much compromise, which gives your palate, time, and wallet the flexibility they all need on a long day in the parks.
The list below does not sum up all of the vegan food in Disney California Adventure. Our list highlights what we think are the best vegan food that we feel are most worth your time and money. We hope this list will save you time preparing for your trip, giving you more time to enjoy it!
There are no 100% vegan or vegetarian restaurants in the park. Per our standards, all food establishments are considered tier .
As of July 2022, not all restaurants and stands have reopened in Disney California Adventure Park. Please check the Disneyland app or its website for an updated reopening timeline of your favorite restaurants, and to see what is currently open in Disney California Adventure.

Our Favorite Vegan Food at Disney California Adventure
During our last trip to the Disney California Adventure, we had a park hopper pass so we ended up enjoying the vegan options at both parks during our stay. The stand-out vegan options for us were the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait, which uses the same lemon soft serve as the It’s Lemon, the character-shaped sourdough boules, and the vegan options at Award Wieners.
The Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait was surprisingly filling and we had trouble finishing it even though we shared it. We love that Dole Whip is not overly sweet, unlike how many soft serves and blended drinks can be at theme parks. This ended up being our favorite option of the day, as we loved the blue-raspberry and lemon combination, and we highly recommend it.
For a fun souvenir to bring home, especially if you’re flying home the following day, the character-shaped boules are a great option to bring some of the Disney magic, and a piece of San Francisco history, home with you. The boules are quite large and can last you and your family a few days. We were only able to find the classic Mickey-shaped boules, but we’ll be on the lookout for other characters next time.
While the Plant-Based Hot Dog at Award Wieners lacked flavor, we loved the thick steak fries that came with it, and as the Carne Asada fry base. After a long morning standing in line, often in the heat, carbo-loading is necessary to keep your strength up and it hit the spot.
The next time we visit, we are excited to try all of the Impossible options around the park. We’ve already heard great things about the vegan options at Pym Test Kitchen and we hope this encourages more visitors and families to order the vegan options at Disney California Adventure.
